Some day I'd like to live in a town where I can get friends of my age, and my language.. I'd also like some day to live in mountains. But wherever I go I will not forget the desert. The beauty of the sandstorms, the happiness of childhood, the pain of evacuating. The joy of making friends of a different race, the hurt of being different wherever I went. I have good memories, and both sad and happy memories. They're all part of life. Christmas with family, baby siblings, they are what make you you. You should be proud to be you. I know that I'm happy and proud to be me.
Oh Lily, this makes me tear up with joy! God has made you so unique and special. There is no one like you in the whole world! God has given you such a good life, full of happy and sad, ups and downs, etc. I call life "bitter-sweet." It is all mixed together until we get to Heaven. Then we will have eternal joy. happiness, peace, and no tears and pain! Until that joyous time, it is great to embrace the life we have been given and make the most of it. I am proud of you, just by being you!!! I am also thankful that God made me the way I am. It has taken me 66 years to be at peace about that. :) You are way ahead of me, knowing that now at age 11 1/2 years. I love you with all my heart...so does your Maker! <3 Grandma
ReplyDeleteLove you Grandma! See you (hopefully) soon!
DeleteLily, I love this post! Thanks for sharing so honestly and reflecting so thoughtfully on your life. I am so happy I have been able to visit you both in the desert and in England and in the U.S.! All these places and every memory you've made in your different homes have made you a really special and really strong person. Plus, it has been so fun for me to have you introduce me to the best of all your homes... each home has different things (like landscapes and food and friends) that make them unique and beautiful, even with the pain of certain situations. I love you tons. <3 Also.... this is a great photo! -Abigail
